Description
This extract has a confirmed 20% Lutein. This is one of the main active ingredients in the Marigold Flower.
These herbal extracts are ideal for adding to herbal teas, or other beverages, and can also be added to foods. The Marigold Flower extract is safe to consume. There’s currently no recommended dietary intake for lutein, the recommended dose is 200 mg a day.
Tagetes erecta, the Aztec marigold, Mexican marigold, big marigold, cempazúchitl or cempasúchil, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Tagetes native to Mexico. Despite being native to the Americas, it is often called the African marigold.
Lutein is often used in the human diet as a colouring for foods, and has been found to have beneficial effects on the retina for three-colour vision and in support against macular degeneration.
Lutein may prove to be an indispensable source for skin protection. According to a Harvard research team, it may have the potential to act as a preventative agent against UVB-induced skin damage.
