Description

This NEW Ashwaganda Root Extract has a confirmed 5% Withanolides, one of the main active ingredients in Ashwaganda Root.

These herbal extracts are ideal for adding to herbal teas, or other beverages, and can also be added to foods. The recommended starting dose for Withanolides is 300-500 mg per day at 5%. A full dose would be 1000-1500 mg per day. This can be increased up to 6000 mg but it is best to begin with a lower maximum of 1250 mg per day.

Ashwaganda is an adaptogenic herb that’s popular in Ayurvedic medicine and has been used for more than 2,500 years. It is the most commonly used and researched adaptogen. Medicinal properties include; tonic, rejuvenative, aphrodisiac, nervine, sedative, astringent, anti-anxiety, anti-depressant and anti-inflammatory. In India, ashwagandha is known as the ‘strength of the stallion’ because it has traditionally been used to strengthen the immune system after illness.

Withanolides are a group of at least 300 naturally occurring steroids built on an ergostane skeleton. They can boost brain function, lower blood sugar and cortisol levels, and help fight symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. In men it may have powerful effects on testosterone levels and reproductive health. Research has shown it may improve body composition and increase strength. It also has anti-inflammatory effects, and may help improve heart health by reducing cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Test-tube and animal studies suggest that ashwagandha may mitigate memory and brain function problems caused by injury or disease. Research has shown that it promotes antioxidant activity that protects nerve cells from harmful free radicals.
