Most essential oils are extracted from plants using steam distillation. The steam carries the oils where it is cooled back into water. The oils float on top of the water and are separated out. The remaining water, however, retains some of the essences of the plants and will have subtle scents to them.
These waters can be used in Ceremony for cleansing and purifying. The subtle scents add another layer of energy to the Ceremony.
