These herbal extracts are ideal for adding to herbal teas, or other beverages, and can also be added to foods. The Galanthus nivalis extract is safe to consume, a typical dose would be 50-100 mg and the maximum recommended would be 600 mg per day.

Galanthus nivalis, the snowdrop or common snowdrop, is the best-known and most widespread of the 20 species in its genus, Galanthus. Snowdrops are among the first bulbs to bloom in spring and can form impressive carpets of white in areas where they are native or have been naturalised.

Galanthus nivalis contains an alkaloid, “Galantamine” that has been isolated from the bulbs and flowers of the common Snowdrop.

In a 2018 double-blind study lasting three nights, Galantamine was shown to increase lucid dreaming.

Galantamine has been classified as an herbal oneirogen, which is a plant that produces or enhances dream-like states of consciousness.
