Eucalyptus Leaf (Eucalyptus globulus)

Description

Eucalyptus is widely known for its fresh scent. Intensely aromatic with a mix of menthol, citrus and pine – famously used in air fresheners and cleaning products. Common medicinal uses include: in the treatment of respiratory illnesses such as coughs, colds, sore throats, asthma and congestion. Eucalyptus is also used in dental care and for fighting fungal infections. A method for relieving congestion involves boiling eucalyptus leaves in a tightly covered pot filled with water then removing the pot from heat to inhale the vapours. Actions include: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antibacterial, decongestant, antiseptic. Used topically for burns, cuts and insect bites, as well as muscle and joint pain. The aroma of Eucalyptus provides a natural stimulant and stress reliever. On the palate, Eucalyptus has a pungent flavour that is bitter and warm, and finishes with a cooling sensation.
